Providence Roam Results in Explosion

After finally winning an Abaddon on Somer Blink, I spent some of the isk on a Manticore, which I took to the finest scrub hunting lands in the game: Providence. I've tried this many times before, in Brutixes and Manticores, but I've only ever killed one thing. This time however things would be different. Why?

Having learned the skill in preparation mere days before hand, I would be using bubbles for the first time in my Eve life. After actually learning how to make them drag bubbles, I headed to Providence and deployed by bubble on a small trade lane.
And so the stage was set for some large scale industrial killing. Or so I hoped. There was the occasional shuttle and noobship that passed, but I then managed to drag a Crane.
The Crane cloaked and was able to warp off since he had not been dragged very far into the bubble. Moments later a Venture comes in, but that's all I get for a while.
Two cups of tea later I pack up and move to another gate. This dosen't manage to trap anyone for half an hour, so I decide to move again. But suddenly a Helios and Malediction appear as I decloak to unachor it.
The CVA pet Malediction is able to burn to me surprisingly quickly, and he is on top of me before I'm aligned enough to launch the bomb.
I remove the Malediction's shields but it's too late since he's already removed my armour.
I issue a gf in local like the polite bastard I am, and I am returned to my home station courtesy of Pod Self-Destruct Express.
On a final note- are CVA not NRDS anymore? They seemed to have confused me as someone who is red, though the KOS checker says differently:
I can haz reimbursment CVA?

Back to RVB

After trading made me want to kill myself, I've rejoined RvB while I search for another corp. I took a random Thrasher I had from Jita, which happened to be a badly fit 'instapopping' arty Thrasher. How did it do in a fight? Let's find out.
Our fleet consists of a mixture of Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers and Battlecruisers, with some shield Logis.
The fleet looked like that. Eventually the Blue fleet jumped in with sniper support coming in at 100KM, and there were pretty explosions everywhere.
You know stuff is serious when you see that. Within seconds of the fleet jumping in, I realise my overview doesn't work and hastily burn back to the gate to fix it. I solve the problem by ticking the boxes until I see a massive blob of red on my overview, and get back to shooting people.
I then come under attack by some drones, and had to warp out. As I entered warp, I managed to take a semi-decent looking screenshot of the fight.
We then finish off the fight and try to kill off the remaining snipers before looting the field.
More content to come soonTM.

A Nullsec Roam

In need of some more blog material and some fun, I bought a Talwar with the isk I hadn't yet invested in Nanite Repair Paste and headed off to nullsec to die in an explosion.
I didn't have to go very far into nullsec before I died, in fact I exploded the first nullsec system I jumped in to. But did I make it long, drawn out and nearly killed someone in the process? Yes. My destination is M-OEEB, a nullsec system owned by Goonswarm connecting to Lonetrek.
When I jump in, I find 2 sniping Nagas and a tackling Rifter awaiting me. I burn back to the gate the first time and think of a strategy to deal with them. They get me down to 50% armour and so I dock up and repair.
My next jump in position is not a favourable one, and I am still covered in bubbles. I head out once again.
The final jump I make in my Talwar puts me in a much better position to evade the bubbles and dodge the Naga's fire, I finally aggress the Rifter that is tackling me.
My shield tanked Talwar and the shield tanked Rifter now have similar percentages of shield left, but although I'm doing a good job of evading one Naga I'm still taking a beating from the other one.
I burn out my afterburner and once I lose my shields my armour drops surprisingly fast. Before I die, I manage to send the Rifter into 50% armour, mainly because he's shield tanked and my missiles do explosive damage, which is strong against armour.
My Talwar ceases to exist after taking another couple of volleys from the Nagas that have started to move back into their optimal range.
I give a gentlemanly 'gf' in local, which is unreturned by any of them. At this point, I declare I have a moral victory and self destruct my pod.
Always next time eh?

The War over Hek Countinues

After our glorious victory in Hek on Saturday, our enemies have been unwilling to commit an attack to us and the majority of fights, leading to the majority of fights being station games. In addition to this, two of ourenemies have dropped their wardecs against us:

Is this the first in a long line of notifications about wardecs being dropped? Probably. Although Sunday represented smaller amounts of kills due to our success on Saturday as our enemies became more weary, it was still rather pretty:

We did manage to get a few kills as well as taking lots of pretty pictures, such as another careless Tornado:

I warped onto his bookmark and tackled him, and he was quickly finished off once the fleet landed on top of him. We also managed to kill a few other war targets in Hek, but eventually we sent a fleet into nullsec. I missed this but there's a battle report of it here. There's more news from Hek to come.

A Wormhole Expedition

Unfortunately our war targets in Hek disappointed us again after we and our allies out-upshipped them, meaning we had to look somewhere else for pewpew. Where better to look for it in wormholes? Surely the Sleepers in a C1 wormhole wouldn't know what hit them if they were blobbed as much as we blobbed our wartargets. Let's find out.
Tada! If you're an experienced wormholer, you're probley wondering how we got a fleet for 25 people who were mainly in cruisers into and out of the wormhole without it collapsing. We didn't, but more on that later.

OVERKILL!
We managed to clear about eight sleeper sites in a very short amount of time, when we discovered the wormhole was about to collapse.
While we were at the sun debating what to do, a Hawk appeared about 100KM off our fleet and tried to engage the Thorax and Thrasher that were burning to tackle it.

He died. We spent the next few minutes scanning for a new wormhole after the old one collapsed, and we found one that took us into Amarr lowsec, around twenty jumps away from Hek.
A mildly fun experience, plus we returned from the adventure mildly richer.

The Battle for Hek

The second day of my life in Brave Newbies started fairly quietly, with me playing station games and then killing a Tornado that was (badly) attempting to alpha any ships that undocked from the station.

Then killing another Tornado:
But this post isn't about the incompetency of our station campers, despite their hilarious incapability to camp a station. It's about the slaughter that followed which at the time of writing totalled around 10 billion isk. After some small skirmishes on the Hek station, our war targets undocked a Battleship fleet supported by sniping Tornados. What was this Battleship fleet composed of I hear you ask. Well, it was a Vindicator, Armageddon, Typhoon and a Raven, which were all quite happy to aggress our massive blob, which caused explosions.

We swiftly put the Vindicator to his death after a prologned peroid of docking games, followed not long after by his comrades. The Vindicator's pod is nearly as shiny as his 3 billion isk ship, and the other battleships weren't cheap either

Some lovely looking screenshots of the battle:

But were we done with our shiny ship killing yet? No. We were barely half way through it. After reports that a couple of Tengus had been harassing corp members on the Uttindar gate, I took my finest bait Maller to the scene. After waiting for a few minutes, the very same Tengus that had been pestering us early jumped in. The first one locked me; I didn't actually expect it to engage an obvious bait Maller, it was a half-arsed plan after all, but to my delight it did shoot me, and our fleet warped in.
I point a Tengu and sacrifice my Maller while the rest of the fleet lands

As I left in my pod I could see rings of fleet members warping in behind me, and I returned to the station a happy man knowing that it would be moments before the Tengu died, and sure enough as I landed on the station I heard a "That Tengu died fast" on comms. We also managed to get the Hawk, but the other Tengu warped off. Would he survive? No. He also exploded slightly after his friend.

The Tengu explodes, and is valued at 3.5 billion, making our isk destroyed count around 10 billion isk in 45 minutes which is rather good. After this, I'd be suprised if we get any more corps dec us. I for one wouldn't mind a few more if they're flying ships as shiny as this, since our current war targets look unlikely to fight in Hek after this display of force:
After this, our wartargets only wanted to play station games with us, which is understandable considering they would be welped pretty quickly if they aggressed.
Once again, if you haven't joined Brave Newbies and are bored with your life in Eve, join us and you'll experience more fun then you've ever had before. Hopefully.
Fly safe
